CMT Readers Club: Stories that See EveryBody
A National Disability-Inclusive Storytelling Program for Schools
Launched by the Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation (HNF) and the CMT Dream Team, the CMT Readers Club is a joyful, nationwide movement designed to spark empathy, foster inclusion, and raise awareness about disabilities like Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT).
Through the power of storytelling, real-life advocates bring disability-inclusive books into classrooms—helping kids see difference in a positive light and shaping the next generation of allies and changemakers.

Why the Readers Club Matters
Most children rarely encounter disability stories in their school curriculum. The CMT Readers Club changes that by:
💬 Creating safe, meaningful dialogue about disability in the classroom
💡 Encouraging curiosity, empathy, and understanding
📚 Adding inclusive books to school libraries
🌍 Amplifying voices of people living with CMT and other disabilities
💙 Raising funds for research, support, and advocacy through HNF
When kids meet real people with disabilities—through story, conversation, and heart—it changes everything.
