Spin / Yoga for a Cure: Thursday September 27th Hot Ryde Roslyn, New York

by | Sep 19, 2012 | 1 comment

The Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation (HNF) “Spin/Yoga for a Cure” will be held Thursday, September 27, 2012.  This amazing event begins at 11:00 AM at Hot Ryde Studio, Roslyn, NY with one-hour Spin/Yoga sessions.   Participants will enjoy a gift bag donated by our major sponsor Inspirato and light lunch. That evening starting at 5:00 PM, the fun continues at the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset for a Cocktails, Dinner, and auction.

The event will continue to support HNF’s mission in raising awareness and funding research for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT).  CMT is a progressive, degenerative neuromuscular condition affecting the arms, hands, legs, and feet. Many patients become dependent on leg braces to keep them mobile.  Currently here is no cure for CMT.

Hot Off the Press

Research on CMT is global, and covers both laboratory and clinical studies. It is therefore critically important to realize we should be aware of what is happening elsewhere as well as in the USA because it can have implications for what we do and fund.

Hot off the press

Some recent papers on Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease go to show that we are steadily and impressively peeling back the complexity of the biology even though it is a relatively common rare disease with several thousand publications on it.

Join in the fun and connect with old and new friends. I would be thrilled to see some affected by CMT come even if you don’t want to spin or do yoga. Volunteers to work the event are welcomed!
