You may not be a scientist. But you have something researchers need.

If you have a genetic report related to your CMT diagnosis, uploading it to GRIN, the Global Registry for Inherited Neuropathies, is one of the most direct contributions you can make to CMT research today. It takes a few minutes. The impact lasts far longer.

What Is GRIN?

GRIN is HNF’s patient registry, and it is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against CMT. It is a secure, centralized database where patients contribute their health data, including genetic information, symptoms, and disease progression, giving researchers a real-world window into how CMT behaves across thousands of people.

The more patients who contribute, the sharper that picture becomes, and the faster research can move.

Your Data Is More Powerful Than You Think

When genetic data from CMT patients comes together at scale, patterns emerge that no single clinic or research center could ever see on its own. Your report helps researchers:

  • Identify which gene variants are most common across the CMT population

Building Awareness on CMT and Supporting the Patient Community – HNF Announces Support from Pharnext

HNFpharnext recently entered into a partnership with the French biopharmaceutical company, Pharnext, to help raise awareness of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and support the CMT patient community through several initiatives. Building awareness is key! Targeting PMP22 in CMT1A Patients with Gene Duplication

In previous collaborative work with a group of investigators including Dr Rolf Renne from the University of Florida, Dr. Alex Murashov from East Carolina University and Dr. Lynn Hudson from the NIH-NINDS, we validated a microRNA known as miR29a as a reagent that corrected the expression level of PMP22 in rodent Schwann cells.
