My name is Josh Taub and I am the executive producer and director of the upcoming documentary "BERNADETTE," about the struggles of living with CMT. Prior to this project, I'd mostly worked in comedic formats - including tv, film, and stage. Needless to say, it has been extremely gratifying to be a part of something inspirational and real, for the first time in my career. I know that my sentiment is shared by our talented co-producer and editor Jeffrey Ertz who has been with this from the very beginning.
I've personally known Bernadette for over 7 years and my wife, Jenna, has known her all her life. After a lot of talk (a few years worth), one day we turned on the camera and began filming. Little did I know that two years later the camera would still be rolling. In that time, we've seen Bernadette rise from obscurity to a beacon of inspiration and hope for others with CMT. There has been family tragedy, spiritual awakening, surgeries, and just the everyday obstacles faced by those suffering with this horrible disease. We've encountered so many others with CMT whose stories, at times, are emotionally earth-shattering. Bernadette says she has "the biggest disease no one has ever heard of." Her dream is to change that fact. Hopefully, this film will help.
