Does your Charcot-Marie-Tooth symptoms make dog ownership difficult?

Does your Charcot-Marie-Tooth symptoms make dog ownership difficult?

Do you wear braces that make it challenging to bend down and clean up after your dog?

Do you use a cane for balance and worry about you  and your pet’s safety while walking?

The responsibilities of pet ownership can pose additional challenges for those living with CMT, and may discourage bringing a dog into their family home.

If you are a CMTer who owns a dog, please help others by sharing your helpful dog ownership tips on our CMT Inspire online community.

I have two Chihuahuas, I wouldn’t know what to do without them, I wear Afos and use a cane, my babies are very aware of my ease of falling, they are a God send… Cmt is progressing faster than the speed of light, although it is very difficult and somedays nearly impossible to walk, I push on and make sure that my furbabies are very well taken care of, God Bless everyone of my CMT brothers and sisters 🙂
